This 500 silver coin features Founding-King Dan-gun along with the bear & tiger, and holy Mount
Taebaek-san from the myth, a Korean Red Pine tree and a pheasant. It was issued by Kazakhstan
in 2016 as part of a series of coins commemorating the origins of Kazakhstan's various ethnic groups.
Obviously, this one is for the Koreans there. Quite a few Koreans were forcibly transported by trains
to Kazakhstan (and fewer to other Central Asian nations) by the USSR under the reign of Joseph
Stalin, and have by now established deep roots of their own there.
