Bong-eun-sa on the western
slope of San-bang-san, with
more dramatic views of the
peak, enshrines this attractive
folksy San-shin
(note that the boy
offers a teapot and an upgrowth of
coarl)
, a scholarly Deok-seong
(with a Zen Master's fly-wisk), and
an old Yon-wang painting nearly
covered over with "jade"
Buddha-statues
(labled with
donor's names)
in a separate
shrine.

Page Five --  the West Slope of Sanbang-san in the West Area
Bohyeon-sa [temple named after a popular Boddhisattva], also on the
west side of Sanbang-san in western Geoje-do, features a
simple San-shin painting with a statue of the original Buddha in
front of it -- implying the enlightened status of the
Mountain-King. A sacred white tiger prowls on the outer wall of
the San-shin-gak, while the Yong-wang rules in his undersea
palace.
In addition, Sanbang-san
Bohyeon-sa hosts these very fine
old Shin-jung
[Spirit-Assembly] and
Chil-seong
[Seven Stars of the Big
Dipper]
paintings.
