| The historic Mission San Carlos, aka the Carmel Mission, was built in 1771 (2nd one in California) by pioneering missionary priest Junipero Serra (his tomb is under the floor of the altar), and is still an active Catholic parish. |
| and then to charming Santa Cruz, seen above in background from the UC campus, to visit my old friend David "The Savage" Richardson, now Manager of the Rio Theater (site of live music, movies & etc) |
