A quite ordinary Mountain-spirit painting is found at the historic (but all recently-reconstructed) Nam-go-yeon-guk-sa [South Ancient Peaceful Nation Temple], built on Deok-go-san to defend Jeonju City from the southern direction.  San-shin sits on his tiger, which is kind of Shamanic.
A dongja-boy carries in a ginseng root hanging from a stick.  Also, the North-Star Spirit appears in the Chil-seong [Seven Stars] painting, with a dongja-boy holding a staff with gourd (of longevity medicine or wine) and a sprig of
bullocho [immortal mushroom] -- as if his master were a San-shin.
The matching San-shin and Deok-seong altars of Bul-jeong-sa Temple of Deok-go-san.   The Mountain-spirit holds a large golden bullocho sprig, and is being offered peaches-of-immortality.
It's very strange that a Deok-seong Statue is sitting in front of the San-shin painting!  A
dongja [attendant-boy] statue sits in front of the Deok-seong painting.  This is probably due to the monks just not paying attention to these identities.
