Hwayang-dong
華陽 화양 the "Brilliant Sunny" Scenic  Valley
in the Sogni-san Mountains
cultural/natural site of the southern sector of the Baekdu-daegan
Hwayang-dong a scenic gorge-valley associated with Neo-Confucian scholar "U-am" Song Shi-yeol,
and a very favorable site according to Korea's pungsu-jiri theories.  It is found in the northern section
the Sogni-san National Park, about in the middle of the park area, and is a key cultural/natural site of
the southern sector of the
Baekdu-daegan mainline, part of its region.  Also called the 화양구곡 華陽九曲
in winter
